Nominations for Top 50 Women in Sustainable Finance 2024 launched

01/05/2024

Who are the women contributing to making the financial sector more sustainable? For the 3rd year in a row, WIFS is organizing the Top 50 Women in Sustainable Finance: a list of women working on sustainability in the financial sector with demonstrable visibility and impact on this topic. Everyone is welcome to submit nominations for this list. The nomination period is now open and runs until May 31, 2024. The launch of the Top 50 will take place during the Dive In Festival, of which WIFS is the Dutch country lead for the fifth time. The live event will take place on September 25, 2024 at PGGM in Zeist.

Top 50 women contribute to various aspects of sustainability within the financial sector, ranging from sustainable investing to the sustainability of banks' mortgage portfolios and contributing to public health within insurance companies. Initiator of the Top 50 Women in Sustainable Finance 2024 is WIFS, an association aiming for a 50/50 balance in finance: a financial sector that is as diverse and inclusive as our society itself.

Previous editions of the Top 50 reflect a diverse and inspiring group of women who all, in their own way, make a positive impact within the sector. From entrepreneurs to C-level executives and managers, as well as emerging talents and thought leaders.

A professional jury, including Cindy van Oorschot, Rinke Zonneveld, Stephan Veen, Faisal Setoe and Nicolette Loonen, will assess the nominations based on visibility and impact in the past year. Chair of the jury Marguerite Soeteman-Reijnen emphasizes the importance of the recognition provided by the Top 50:

“The nominees not only give sustainability a face. These ladies take ownership, inspire confidence and create essential results both internally and externally.”

The launch of the Top 50 Women in Sustainable Finance will be one of the highlights during the Dive In Festival Netherlands. It is the tenth edition of the global event, and WIFS is the Dutch country lead for the fifth year in a row. Dive In draws attention to diversity and inclusion within the financial sector by hosting a variety of events in 47 countries. The festival emphasizes the need to look beyond traditional definitions of diversity and strive for equal opportunities for all.
