YWIFS event The Dilemmas of investing in Developing Countries

Datum: 31 mei 2018

Locatie: FMO, Den Haag

We are proud to introduce our next event at FMO, the Entrepreneurial Development Bank, in collaboration with Fairtrade International on the 31st of May, 2018.

FMO and Fairtrade both strive to better the world through their activities in developing countries, coming across the benefits as well as the challenges of investing and being operational in such countries. FMO was founded in 1970 with the mission to empower entrepreneurs to build a better world, investing in businesses, projects and financial institutions in developing and emerging markets to support sustainable growth. Fairtrade is a quality mark (‘Fairtrade Max Havelaar’) and a worldwide movement, helping farmers and workers in developing countries to gain a stronger position in the supply chain so they can earn a decent income and invest in a sustainable future.

We will dive into the financial world of developing countries. FMO learns us about the importance of development finance, the risks involved and the impact that can be created. Thereafter, Fairtrade presents its view on (fair) trading practices, corporate responsibility to respect human rights and strategy towards a living income.
