In a time of increasing international signals that attention to gender equality and inclusion is under pressure, WIFS (Women in Financial Services) emphasises the importance of inclusive leadership and active allyship. With the introduction of the WIFS Allyship Awards, the organisation is turning negativity into a positive spotlight on leaders and organisations that do not neglect inclusion, but translate intentions into visible and measurable behaviour.

Inclusion requires more than representation
Multiple studies show that inclusive organisations perform better, are more innovative and have a more balanced approach to decision-making and culture. Teams that consist of people from different backgrounds, including neurodiversity, sexual diversity, cultures and diverse perspectives. Yet inclusion is still not a given.
For example, women are just as ambitious and motivated as men, but they are less likely to see a realistic route to the top. Structural barriers, a lack of sponsorship and unequal promotion opportunities hinder their careers, particularly at crucial transition points.
“Inclusion goes beyond male-female and requires more than good intentions. Diverse perspectives lead to better decisions, and allies are essential to make that possible. With WIFS, we are keen to highlight those good examples.” explains Indra Frishert, Vice-Chair of WIFS and Director of Dazure.
Allyship Awards: proving that things can be done differently
With the Allyship Awards, WIFS recognises leaders and organisations that demonstrate that inclusion does work when responsibility is taken.
WIFS presents two awards:
- Inclusive Leadership Award
For a leader who has demonstrably translated inclusion and equality into personal action at board or management level. - Inclusive Workfloor Award
An organisation that has translated inclusion into measurable progress: in representation, culture, policy and organisational change.
Nominations are still open
Do you know a leader who is making a visible difference as an ally? Or an organisation that has demonstrably taken steps towards a more inclusive workplace? Nominations for the Allyship Awards – for both leaders and organisations – can be submitted until Thursday 12 February at 12:00 noon.
Willem Vosmer, board member of WIFS and Partner Steward Redqueen: "For me, allyship means helping others move forward. It’s something you do for the other person and for the sector, because diverse teams deliver demonstrably better results."
Award ceremony on 4 March 2026
The Allyship Awards will be presented during the WIFS Allyship Awards Event on 4 March 2026 at MN in The Hague. The event aims to accelerate the movement towards 50/50 in the financial sector and to learn from best practices. An inspiring and unifying moment, with a positive foundation for sustainable change. You can register via the WIFS website.
