Last Thursday, November 27, the board and members gathered at Goldman Sachs in The Hague for the WIFS Special Members' Meeting & End-of-Year Drinks.
During the Special Members' Meeting, the members present unanimously approved the appointment of two new board members: Lediane Toledo and Willem Vosmer. With the addition of not one, but two new board members, we are strengthening our organisation and enabling the further growth of our community and our 50/50 mission.
We also thank Estefanía Matesanz, for her dedication and valuable contribution to WIFS over the past years. After three years she is stepping down from the board.
After the Special Members Meeting members of the Goldman Sachs Women’s Network joined the event for the keynote by Chantal Korteweg about the importance of allyship and the many ways in which it can take shape and come to life.
Allyship goes beyond good intentions. It requires awareness, courage, and the active use of one’s position to help others move forward. With sharp insights, relatable examples, and lessons drawn from both her book SOS: A Navigation Guide for Women at Work and the writing process itself, this was an interactive and reflective keynote.
The afternoon concluded with some casual end-of-year drinks, where members of WIFS and Goldman Sachs' Women's Network also had the opportunity to get to know each other.
